DESCRIBE A TYPICAL HUNT.
CONTROLLED BIRD HUNTS: Full day hunts are 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. with an 1-1 1/2-hour lunch break unless limit is reached earlier
Half day hunts are 8:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. unless limit is reached earlier
EUROPEAN HUNTS: Starts at your request, end time varies depending on how many people. Birds will be launched from a central point high into the air and you will rotate around to different stations throughout the hunt.
DEER HUNTING: Starts and ends at your request. We will take you into and pick you up from your stand. We provide deer stands that are already set up, all you have to do is choose where you want to sit.
COYOTE HUNTS: They are primarily nocturnal predators so hunts will start in the late evening with the time depending on weather factors. NO KILL LIMIT.
WHAT TYPE OF TERRAIN DO WE HUNT IN?
The layout consists of native and CRP grass, corn, milo and wheat stubble along with tree belts, feed strips and spring fed creeks.
WHAT KIND OF LICENSE/TAG WILL I NEED?
You will need a Kansas Hunting License.
If you are hunting a controlled shooting area only & do not have a KS hunting license you may purchase a Controlled Hunting License ($30)
If you are 75 or older and a Kansas resident, you do not need a license
Deer hunters will need to apply for a draw to get a Kansas tag and also have a Kansas hunting license
Coyote Hunts need a Ks hunting license and a night vision Equipment permit ($2.50)
Turkey Hunts need a Ks hunting license & turkey permit. (Nonresidents must draw-application in January)
CAN WE BRING OUR OWN DOGS?
Yes, but we will need to know ahead of time, and we will provide trained hunting dogs on guided hunts.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I WOUND A DEER?
Unfortunately, a wounded deer is a dead deer. Very seldom do we lose a wounded deer, however, if that occurs the odds of that deer living are very slim. Therefore, if blood is drawn, the deer is considered dead regardless of a successful recovery. Our guides do monitor numbers of arrows taken into the stand and when picked up.
